New Uniforms Will Be Expensive

In case you knuckle heads who think that Pinks and Greens will be cool, let me highlight some facts, it is going to cost you a bunch of money, let me show you.

Pinks and Greens will require the following:

Pin On Rank for Officers

DUI pin on for officers and Enlisted

Brown Shoes

Brown Boots for the Airborne

Brown Socks

Sew on Rank for Enlisted

Brown Shoulder Boards for Officer and NCOs

New Headgear (both saucer cap, brown beret (unless the SMA wants to get rid of beret), and cunt cap (if beret goes the way of the dodo bird).

Sam Browne Belts (for Officers only enlisted will wear leather belt)

And the tailoring, and the keeping starched, and what happens to the Blues?

I think the pinks and greens proposed do not match the WWII colors we see in films and photos of the period. It may also have to do with the quality of the material–we do not make as much quality cloth now as we did then (no synthetics in WWII uniforms). The fit and design is also not authentic but more of a simulacrum–the Ike jacket is probably the worst offender, mainly because of the brass buttons–the WWII version had a fly that covered over the buttons, making a much less cluttered look. The women’s uniform blouse is too short. Either go back to WWII WAC uniform, or at least use the lines of the green class A for women, which flattered a variety of figures. That’s what the USMC women’s uniform does. Give it up–go back to greens if we’re so desperate for a uniform change (as for me, maybe equipment that works would be a better use of our funds).
