New Army Grunt Came from France, Has Fought in Donetsk and Kurdistan

He’s not uninteresting (not at all), but one wonders who in the Army of the United States signed off on his enlistment?

A prominent militant who fought with Russian-backed separatists in Ukraine and participated in far-right European politics recently completed U.S. Army training and is serving in an American infantry division in Hawaii, according to Army and other records.

Guillaume Cuvelier, 29, shipped for basic training in January and graduated as an infantryman at Fort Benning, Ga., the records show. In a short exchange with The Washington Post, Cuvelier confirmed that he was actively serving in the U.S. Army.

(Did he meddle in the 2016 Presidential election too?? Did Gen Flynn sign off?? Oh, sorry, that was invidious.)

On the one hand, his experience could be greatly valuable.

On the other hand, doesn’t he seem an awful lot of trouble to have around?

For all my Army brethren– Are we so hard up for quality recruits that we pounce on peripatetic Frenchmen to fill the ranks of the infantry?

Mon Dieu.

This one is pretty easy, he had no arrest history and Army recruiting doesn’t dig past your US criminal history and since he pretty much hasn’t been in the US ever, he didn’t have a criminal history.
