Hawaii Under the Gun?

Yes. Alaska too, I believe.

Stand by for high winds and heavy seas. I certainly hope this does not go catastrophic, but I earnestly hope and desire that this country and her allies can de-fang the rogue state of North Korea. I care less about regime change than I do about removing a significant threat to stability and peace.

Good things we have some adults in charge.

It isn’t a rogue state insomuch as it is an insane leader who’s tortured and/or executed even his closest allies just to ensure the most fanatical loyalty.

But, the Russians! And, Ann Coulter in Berkley!!

Fortunately the US of A is protected from the most dangerous COA: shooting nukes straight up into the Mesosphere and detonating them over CONUS. EMP. No hardened or improved or even repaired “shovel-ready” infrastructure. Herds of millenials with no wifi and no cash. Anarchists forced to work at McDonald’s instead of binging on Mom’s Netflix and medicinal weed supply. The horror! The horror.

I’ve been thinking about this lately–the Trump wish to get China to “help” us with North Korea. What Xi is playing us, making us take our eye off the ball in the South China Sea, where they really want to extend Chinese control? What if the price for “helping” us with North Korea is backing off our strategic commitment to freedom of navigation in the southern waters around the Philippines and SE Asia? I am less worried about North Korean nukes aimed at the US or Japan than I am about the Chinese. The North Koreans know we can take them out and destroy their country (at tremendous cost to the Korean peninsula), so I honestly think this is all saber- (or missile-) rattling on both sides. I am worried, however, that the Chinese will play the current administration like a fiddle. It may well be the case that dropping out of TPP was the first major blunder of 2017.

Entirely possible. Xi needs control of the South China Sea to keep the Colonels of the PLA under control while China continues its transition to a neo-Han Empire.
