I haven’t delved into the Air Force issue yet, but the Marine Corps item got a lot of attention yesterday. I read the letter and checked out the list of names thereunto appended (!) and was not surprised to see several familiar names, some I’m bound to say utterly worthless, officers I would go a long way to avoid serving with, and a few I honestly thought would have declined to be listed. (Also– field grade officers I can understand, but lieutenants??) They haven’t done themselves or the Marine Corps any favors. They just put another rock in the Commandant’s pack.

Oh, and they talk about “changing a culture”– the Marine Corps’ culture is built around fucking people up on the battlefield, being ready to fight anywhere across the globe. Why do we want to change that??

People in the air force suffer abuse? I thought they were all on first name basis. . .
