Viola Out as SecArmy

Does that mean Jim Hickey ’82 is now back in the running?

Let’s hope so. Would be nice to have another alumnus in the building. I hope his resume lands on the desk of the new SecDef.

I suspect Jim Hickey will be considered and may be the choice. Allen West would be a horrible choice for all the reasons he is an interesting public figure. West would have a hard time being confirmed because of what happened in Iraq. Leaving Bob Speer who is the acting in that position would be good. He was a career Army officer, knows how the Pentagon works and his background in Budgets would reap rewards on the hill. Though he got passed over for SECNAV Randy Forbes would be a good choice.
