Gun-Day Sunday: The Gun Show, Magazines, etc.

Just came back from the gun show. G-Tex (of Civ Div Designs custom leather holster fame) and Phat Joe joined me; unfortunately USMC0802 and MDL could not make it.

The show was as busy as ever– the parking lot was a madhouse– but it seemed to have an air of unhurried calm, brought on we think by the outcome of the election. Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of business going on, but the atmosphere was, if not triumphant, at least much happier. I scored an Inland magazine for the M1 carbine *and* a brick of Swiss GP11! I believe that the gun show will continue to be well-attended into the foreseeable future, despite a measure of security having been won for us. The prudent will continue their preparations apace.

Didn’t get to the show but need to stock up? Brownells is having a huge magazine sale.

Opening day of rifle season here in Mosby’s Confederacy yesterday yielded no deer but still was worthwhile. The one doe that was in range and in the opening after enough sunlight came into the hollow was between me and the landowner’s house– no shot.
