Gun Show Report, 13 Feb 2016

I went this afternoon to the gun show at Dulles Expo Center. I had a two-fold mission; 1) to get an M1 carbine belonging to a BR appraised, and 2) to get about 300 rounds of 5.56 NATO, with a preference for a South African milsurp battlepack, in prep for the FPF Training Minuteman Rifle Course in April. I was successful on both counts (appraisal done by one of Tango Seven-Six’s BRs, and I got the ammo for $100, not bad at all).

Other than that, here’s what I saw:

  • BRUTAL COLD, especially with the wind
  • Huge crowds, parking was a nightmare
  • Good selection throughout, with brisk commerce going on
  • Cash is king

I spent less than I budgeted, even, and so squirreled the excess away for the next gun show. 🙂

Folks, now is the time to acquire– arms, ammunition, magazines, parts, optics, cases, training.

Never a bad time to stock up, especially given the passing of Justice Scalia. Training, gear, ammo.
